Huh? Not making any sense? Because of the nature of these little flash fiction vignettes, I thought it would be helpful to index previous back stories and journal entries. Although Artiste’s tales are non-linear, it can help to read some pages in groups by threads of associated content. Of course you could just read them randomly, and trust that it will all come together at some point.
The beginning back story is always a great place to start:
• The Artiste Gullible back story
For this particular installment it also may help to read: (Something random?)

[image] A beautiful Bell, looks at her hand in horror as it begins a beastly transformation.
[text] Knowing most folk tales have a root of truth, embellished in a literary way to meet the taste of the masses; I was pleased to discover the reality behind the old French telling of La Belle et la Bête. While the more popular story is disarmingly romantic in its homo sapiens partiality, the truth behind the tale reveals the sincerity of our heroine’s conviction.
The aptly named Belle, unable to resist the animal within, confesses her undying love for the beast with a kiss. With this singular act she forsakes her beauty, and binds herself to his curse; forever tied to her lycanthropic mate in the moon dappled forests of feral devotion.

I have often wondered why “he” becomes handsome(human) prince and not “she” becomes Lupal Anthropromorph (still attractive to wolves). I suspect it has something to do with the marketability of the action figure…ie terror inducing happy meal toy..
Dave,
I just finished reading everyone of your individual comics and they are all so beautifully illustrated. Each character fulfills the words that you lay down. I enjoyed reading all of them. I haven’t really read any comics on a regular basis since I was 7 or 8. Then for awhile when I was older it was every Farside that was published. I hope to be on your list and await the future installments of all your fabulous creatures. I also love how you put your script together…I am able to visually see what you are trying to say. Awesome work!!!!!!! So Cool!!!!
