Huh? Not making any sense? Because of the nature of these little flash fiction vignettes, I thought it would be helpful to index previous back stories and journal entries. Although Artiste’s tales are non-linear, it can help to read some pages in groups by threads of associated content. Of course you could just read them randomly, and trust that it will all come together at some point.
The beginning back story is always a great place to start:
• The Artiste Gullible back story
For this particular installment it also may help to read: Something random?

[image] A Selection of head-shots. Human, Furry, Aquatic, Elvish, all mixed and matched in a rouge's row of diversity
[text] The multiverse is populated by an eclectic diaspora of sentient life. From the very small to the gigantic, each expression adds a distinctive cultural variable to the greater equation of life.
Nevertheless, for all it’s diversity, the multiverse is remarkably efficient in it’s use (or re-use) of a proven form. Either through organic creation, or unwilling abduction, bipedal humanoids with minor environmental deviations can be found everywhere; distinctive in character, but with undeniable echoes of the original formula.
It is so common, in fact, that other species often say “If there are pastures to be tilled, water to be drawn, or mountains to climb, an under-furred, somewhat arrogant, tool builder with a propensity for war will be there claiming he invented it all.”

Assuredly there is a shorter version of that saying, if the other species say it so often?
@Offendi: Of course. My quote is actually a poor conceptual translation of the idiom “Bare fingers flay where old timers play.” (Which is also a poor literal translation into Anglic.) The quote has essentially the same meaning, although “flay” is sometimes construed to mean senseless destruction rather than war, a casual irony when paired with the word which is translated as tool builder.
Minor quibble – you mis-used “it’s” a couple times. Corrections:
“For all its diversity”.. (rule: “for all her diversity” -> “for all its diversity”)
“Remarkably efficient in its use”.. (same)
From a scientific view, the basic humanoid form has an advantage in most situations. It makes sense that evolution would end in similar ways across the multiverse.
