Huh? Not making any sense? Because of the nature of these little flash fiction vignettes, I thought it would be helpful to index previous back stories and journal entries. Although Artiste’s tales are non-linear, it can help to read some pages in groups by threads of associated content. Of course you could just read them randomly, and trust that it will all come together at some point.

The beginning back story is always a great place to start:
• The Artiste Gullible back story

For this particular installment it also may help to read: Something random?

[text] “She finished my sentences, and completed my life.”

The traveler looked at me with a wistful smile. “Love is a joining, which when done properly, seals you to the other person forever. It is the last great sacrifice of selflessness. Which is why, I suppose, I do not regret what happened.”

He stood before me. An average man of reason, and intellect. A traveler like myself, forever lost, alone in the stream of the now.

Only he wasn’t alone.

“We fell in love.” The traveler continued. “It’s known to happen even with all the barriers we erect to keep that kind of deferred pain from growing. I told her I would love her forever, but that it was time for me to leave.”

“She knew what I was, and yet she didn’t understand.

As the push flowed over me, taking me away, she jumped into my arms, and we were one.

I appeared alone in the new now, thinking that I had lost her forever, when her voice whispered inside of me.

She travels with me always, forever a part of my thoughts. Married by fate, and a devotion stronger than space and time.
